At Florida Atlantic University (FAU) in Boca Raton, Florida, I teach courses on Introduction to Astronomy, Planetary Mechanics and Stellar and Galactic Astronomy. Since 2005, I have run the Astronomical Observatory on FAU's Boca Campus. The Observatory provides observations to the students taking the university's astronomy classes, hosts field trips from local schools and provides twice-a-month observation sessions for the general public about the wonders of the current night sky and some of the science of how we understand then. I also hold sessions of events of special astronomical interest. I received my M.S. in Physics at FAU, which my thesis predicted iron line spectra profiles from Bardeen-Petterson accretion disks about compact massive objects and was published in The Astrophysical Journal. From my role in the observatory, I have also become concerned about the growing impact of light pollution and have been working to educate the public about the problem.
